The 2020 Cabernet Franc Carnival moves to a new venue this year and will take place on Saturday, 9 May from 11h00-16h00 at historic Vrede en Lust Wine Estate between Paarl and Franschhoek.  Many of  South Africa’s most passionate producers of this niche varietal will offer their wines for tasting and sale.

VENUE:               Vrede en Lust Estate,  Simondium, between Franschhoek and Paarl.

An outdoor setting in the lush gardens of the Estate, live music by Palm Strings and a curated selection of food trucks make this an outing not to be missed by Cab Franc fans.   The on-site Lust Bistro is open,  but reservations are recommended.  Visitors are welcome to enquire about the various accommodation options on the Estate and specials for the weekend.  Visit www.vnl.co.za to find out more.

The tutored tastings of the 2020 Cab Franc Challenge Top 6 wines is an integral part of the Carnival and is often the only place to taste these winning wines due to small volumes produced.  The tastings are presented by convenor of the judging panel, Christine Rudman. Tickets cost R150 pp extra and only 30 seats per session are available at 11h30 and 13h30.
