Wine lovers should diarise Friday 25 August from 17h00-21h00 and Saturday 26 August 13h00-18h00 when the 6th “We Love Wine at Capegate” festival kicks off with 25 wineries showing off their finest!

“This wine event has become a must-do for northern suburbs wine fans and we always aim to bring producers from all over South Africa’s winelands to our area,” says Capegate Marketing Manager Amanda McCarthy.  “It’s not just about tasting and buying wine directly from the producers, but the Cape Wine Academy will present their FREE educational wine theatre experiences throughout the 2 days.  We also have brand new plans in place to assist kiddies charity, The Pebbles Project to raise more money this year than ever before.”

The wine theatre will present  winery-linked tastings like Perdeberg’s “Barrels & Hops” tasting, Orange River Cellar’s “Create your own wine Cocktails” and “Nibbles and Wine” by Overhex Wines & Montagu Dried Fruit and Nuts.  Themed tastings like “Budget Beaters – Under R100 wines”, “Sweet Treats” and “The Diversity of Pinotage” make up the rest of the programme.

So, not only can visitors enjoy some of SA’s best wines, the event also aims to entertain and educate.

Participating producers are: Badsberg, Bonfire Hill Wines, Bonnievale Wines, Deux Freres Wines, Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate, Front Row Wines, Fryer’s Cove Winery, Haut Espoir, Imbuko Wines, Kingna Distillery, MWS – Montagu Wine & Spirits, Nico Vermeulen Wines, Overhex Wines, Louisvale, Orange River Cellar, Perdeberg Wines, Peter Bayly Wines, Roger Clayton Wines, Ruitersvlei, Stellenbosch Hills, The Fledge & Co, Triple Three Gin, Villiersdorp Cellar, Winkelshoek Cellar, Yonder Hill Wines.
